Forbes #1 - Ron and Hermione

To begin the post, here is a nice shot of little Ron and Hermione - instant indication who wears the pants in this relationship!

Today, Forbes announced that Rupert Grint (Ron Wealsey) and Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) are the Forbes on screen couple! They beat out Viggo Mortenson and Liv Tyler (Lord of the Rings), Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightly (Pirates of the Caribbean), Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet (Titanic and Revolutionary Road), and Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson (from something called Twilight...).

I'd like to take this moment to comment about the brilliance J.K. Rowling had with creating this couple. Now, I may be cynical and have a difficult time believing in love at first sight, but I find it hard to digest whirldwind romances without a foundation to stand on. These two were set up perfectly through the course of 7 books - through friendship, trust, humor, and heartache.

To finish off, a little exerpt from The Order of the Pheonix!

"Don't let Ron see what's on those Slytherin's badges," she whispered urgently.

Harry looked questioningly at her, but she shook her head warningly; Ron had just ambled over to them, looking lost and desparate.

"Good luck, Ron," said Hermione, standing on tiptoe and kissing him on the cheek. "And you, Harry --"
Ron seemed to come to himself slightly as they walked back across the Great Hall. He touched the spot on his face where Hermione had kissed him, looking puzzled, as though he was not quite sure what had just happened.

Who's your favorite HP couple? Or who would you like to have seen get together? (My vote's on Neville and Luna!)

Harry Potter Exhibit EXTENDED in Seattle

Harry Potter: The Exhibition

Harry Potter has not just been creating a world of the imaginative, but creating a world that wizards and muggles alike can interact in. The exhibit, which premired in Chicago in 2009, has traveled the US, displaying over 400 artifacts from the films for Harry Potter fans across the country.

It's last stop on the journey - Seattle, WA - has had the lucky extension of the exhibit. It takes the viewer in to Hogwarts, from stepping into Hagrid's Hut or viewing the boys' dormitory. This magical exhibit will be on view at the Seattle Pacific Science Center until February 13, 2011.
