Ridiculous Harry Potter Video Week

We all know it. Harry Potter, despite being an awesome book and a fabulous franchise, is the maker of TONS of hilarious videos. To celebrate this fact, we're going to have a HARRY POTTER VIDEO EXTRAVEGANZA here at Battle Blog...

It's nice to know if the Bed Intruder Guy was at Hogwarts, Hagrid never would've been sent to Azkaban...

Starting tomorrow, prepare yourself for a week of hilarity!

NEW STILL and Interview with Bonnie Wright

Even though we're a bit late on this, there is a new photo that has been circulating around internet for PART 2!

Wht scene do you think this is from? I personally like the double take for the camera that Rupert's giving us... Maybe it's something in the woods or they're hiding from something (I tried the most vague explanation I could think of... I mean, when are they not running through the woods or hiding from something?)

Also, in a second sort of new, Bonnie Wright (aka Ginny Weasley) has answered a few questions regarding Part 2!

On how big a role Ginny will play in the second part:
I think, actually, the character is involved more. She struggles with Bellatrix and such. Can't say too much, but the role of Ginny is really great, besides the epilogue - not sure if you know, but we had to remake it in December!

On whether there's time for romance between Harry and Ginny during the war:

Yes, there is a kiss. Can't say when that moment will be... but yes, there is a kiss. Also, they do have some other significant moments which I think are cool. We (Dan and I) did a good job.

On whether she has ever had a crush on Daniel Radcliffe:
No! Everyone asks that. I've known [the cast] for so many years that I've lost count... We treat each other as friends and always will. And it would be too embarrassing. Some people say, "Bonnie, you and Daniel make such a good couple" and I get embarrassed and just smile...

Bonnie sounds like such a sweetheart! When do you think Harry and Ginny are going to be 'snogging'? To sound as British as possible...

Harry Potter Gets 2 Oscar Nods

So, the Oscar announcements came out today and Harry Potter gave a couple nominations! Both of them have to do with the artistry of the film, which was breathtaking and totally deserved.

Art Direction: Stuart Craig (Production Design), Stephanie McMillan (Set Decoration)

Visual Effects: Tim Burke, John Richardson, Christian Manz, and Nicolas Aithadi

As glad as I am that Harry Potter was given some recognition, I'm just wating for the day when the actors get some love too. I don't know about you, but I love Helena Bonham Carter and Emma Thompson - there are so many more, but I feel the acting in the films has grown exponentially... What do you think? Who do you want to get what Oscar Nomination?

DVD Release Date and Deleted Scenes!

It seems the closer we get to the end of the road, the more information we're given. Bittersweet, but true. The newest grain of information is the release date of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, which is sceduled to be release....

APRIL 11TH

That actually doesn't seem to far off! Two months before the release of the second movie, which is perfect! Also, the list of deleted scenes has hit the internet:

- The Burrow’s Shed (Ron discusses radios with his father)
- The Dursley House (Harry and Petunia leave the house; Harry and Dudley shake hands)
- The Granger House (The Death Eaters search Hermiones deserted home)
- Ministry of Magic Lifts (Harry interacts with Mr. Weasley)
- Tent (The Trio discuss destroying the locket horcrux)
- Rabbit chase in the forest
- Montage: Ron & Hermione skimming stones

These sound exciting! I actually was a little bummed that Harry and Mr. Weasley didn't chat in the movie, so I'm really looking forward to that scene!

What are you guys looking forward to?

NEW Part 2 Photo

A new photo from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 has been released! It looks like its the two gazing through the two-way mirror shard that Harry's kept.

Are you excited for the new movie? I say, keep the pictures coming!

New Arts Poster Released!

A new poster for the final Harry Potter movie has just been released!

Snape's Death Scene Altered

It was just released by the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Art Director, Andrew Ackland-Snow, that in Part two, the location of Severus Snape's death has been changed. He says,

"We wanted to change a bit where Snape dies. In the book, he dies on the Shrieking Shack, and we wanted to get him out from, not a conventional interior, but from that kind of box, to do it in a more dramatic atmosphere. We asked J.K. if she agreed for that to happen in there, because we hadn't really seen it before. We made a crystal house, and you can see what happens in the boat house from there - Are you listening Harry? -, but also the school is in flames...and she loved it. Besides, it's a very romantic place to die. Snape dies in a extremely good way, I gotta say."

Although altering the book makes me nervous, the fact that Rowling ok'ed it says a lot. What do you think? Shrieking Shack vs. Crystal House?

Neville is So Badass

Neville, being one of my all-time favorite characters, just reached a NEW LEVEL of awesome. With this picture:

I think sometimes we need to take a lesson from Neville. He is unapologetic for who he is - in my opinion, he is amazing - but even though there are certain limitations to his knowledge and power, his is strong and loyal. I think anyone would be lucky to call the "Neville" in their life a friend - even though, unfortunately, they are often overlooked.

Not to mention, he's so badass.

Wizards At Sea

I found something, which I hope you will find as entertaining as I did...

Yes. You see this correctly. A HARRY POTTER THEMED CRUISE.

In all honesty, I'm not sure how I feel. There's a lot of events, but I feel like being trapped around water and playing fake wizards chess would be weird... but here are a few activities:

Wow... The chess thing, I think is a bit much. But the Yule Ball looks sorta fun... But I actually think (even though I LOVE everything Harry Potter) that this is a bit much... do people dress up? Hogwarts on a boat? There are even actors - like Disney - that you can take pictures with. Here are some:

Now, I think they look rather silly, especially Hagrid. Mad-Eye is kinda cool, but I personally feel like I look more like Hermione than the actor on the gallery.

Anyway, what's your thoughts? Would you go on the cruise?

Harry Potter Exhibition

I hope you all are doing okay! I realized that I posted about the extension of the Harry Potter Exhibit, but then realized that maybe people don't really know what it's about! So, I thought I'd give you guys a walk through, hopefully convincing you Pacific Northwesterners so pack up and go to it while it's still at the science center!

Firstly, you do get sorted by a talking sorting hat, including with the SONG!

It sings, it talks, it moves around!!! And yes, I DID get sorted because it's not just for children. I went into Ravenclaw, after shooting dagger eyes at the person before me who got sorted into Slytherin. But don't worry about me, I'll be chillin' with Luna in no time.

You get to walk through the entire thing, experiencing rooms, rather than a museum of just pieces. Starts with the train, then a bunch of moving photos (including the Fat Lady who screeches constantly)... Then, you start with the GRYFFINDORS!

It covers Harry's stuff, Ron's stuff, and Hermione's!

You can see his acceptance letter, the box of poisoned sweets, the Maurader's Map, Harry's glasses, and wand. There are things like this for all the Top Three, and professors and other characters! It's really great! If only the security guards weren't against theft...

Then, you walk through PROFESSORS! There's Snape, Lockhart, Umbridge, Lupin, and Sprout! Lockhart makes me laugh every time I look at his face! It's really bad - it's a gut reaction. But Lupin's section even has his boggart closet and Umbridge has a NAUSTEATINGLY pink section... I mean, just look!

Slughorn vs. Snape.... who'd win? (I ask as Snape's using Slughorn's dead body to clean the floor)

I always found that damn clown to be SO scary... then I was trying to remember who in the movie (besides me) was PETRIFIED of clowns, and then they were playing the clip and it's supposed to be the 'funny' thing... crazy stuff.

Can you say ew?!

Then, you walk to the QUIDDITCH AREA. Which, actually, was one of my favorite parts because I think the quidditch materials are SO COOL!!!!

Call me an infant, but isn't the snitch cool!?

One thing I should mention; Standing by all these costumes... EVERYONE IS TINY. I felt like a giant, just marching around, feeding on villagers...

You continue, go through the Forbidden Forest, past Buckbeak, and through....

HAGRID!!!! (P.S.his costume?! HUGE.)

Then, it turns for the DARK. Death eater's central, filled with Voldy and Bella (who, honestly, is one of my favorite characters).

I VANT TO SUCK YO SOULLLLL!!!!!!!

Death Eaters and Kreacher... I have a huge soft spot for Kreacher...

Ends with the Great Hall.... Beautiful stuff. Even the gift shop is GREAT! They have a wall of wands EXACTLY like Ollivanders and shirts that say "Muggle" on them (If I had money, I'd buy all of it).

I hope you enjoyed the PICS! And if you're in the area GO! It's twice as good as pictures and it's just Super FUN!!!!

Are you going? Have you seen it? Did you see it else? Leave a comment and chat!

Luna Lovegood & Neville Longbottom talk ending HARRY POTTER & THE DEATHL...

Ginny is Engaged to Grindelwald?!

That's right. According to Daily Mail Online (a UK site), after 6 months of whirlwind dating, Jamie Campbell Bower who plays Gellert Grindelwald in the Deathly Hallows movies, is engaged to Bonnie Wright, better known as, Ginny Weasley. With age comes wisdom, so the engagement of the 22-yr-old promising actor (Bower) and 19-yr-old actress who has been called the next Cate Blanchett (Wright) has stunned many and created a great deal of skepticism. 'He says they are completely in love. It all seems very whirlwind, but they both say it’s the real deal’ a source on the Harry Potter set said.

The article continues by saying that controversy exists about whether Bonnie was a rebound for Jamie, having only broken up with Zoe Graham, a clothing designer, a few months before. Zoe is characterized by her pale skin and striking red hair...sound familiar?

From a Harry Potter standpoint, Bonnie and Jamie's upcoming nuptials are significant because Jamie is one of the Volturi (Caius) in the Twilight Saga movies. So, Twilight and Harry Potter are eternally bound--for better or for worse. I sincerely hope the best for the young lovebirds regardless of the scrutiny.

Draco Malfoy (Tom Felton) Interview for Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows

Over the next few days, I will be posting interviews by the cast on filming together for the last time. Stay tuned!

Neville Longbottom Cheers for the Mariners

Hello all! This post has reasons that are twofold:

Creation of Battle For Hogwarts Twitter! If you have a twitter and want updates for blog postings and other nuggets of Harry Potter awesome throughout the day, please follow at:

http://twitter.com/#!/battlehogwarts

Or, find us on Twitter, our name: BattleHogwarts

The second reason was for this awesome picture that I found when looking at Matt Lewis' (Neville Longbottom) twitter!!

Now, this may not be much to some people, but the MARINERS are the baseball team of my hometown, Seattle! Now, Seattle has a reputation of having terrible sports teams (Sidenote: BOOYAH for Saints upset! and R.I.P. Seattle Sonics) so this took me terribly by surprise! I'm glad our lovable Neville is supporting the Mariners...

And to finish off, here is a Neville quote:

'We were all in the D.A. together,' said Neville quietly. 'It was all supposed to be about fighting You-Know-Who, wasn't it? And this is the first chance we've had to do something real – or was that all just a game or something?'
'No – of course it wasn't –' said Harry impatiently.
'Then we should come too,' said Neville simply. 'We want to help.'

What's your favorite Neville moment? Leave a comment!

Harry Potter Epiolgue Photos

Here are some leaked photos of the Epilogue scene! Please note: this is merely to wet your appetites. These images were shot at King's Cross Station, where the scene was originally filmed, but the scenes have now been reshot in a studio because the original shot seemed rushed.
